A Husband's Revenge

I have to share this with you all, It was sent to me in email from my father in law and it is the funniest thing I have seen in a very long time. Thanks Kimball, you made my day.

It is time to make the call

The House of "Representatives" has votes straight down party lines to recess for the August break without passing any legislation to help the American people with the cost of gas.
Every Liberal Socialist dirtbag democrat would rather you pay $4+ per gallon to drive to work than miss even one day of their vacation.
The GOP voted to stay, they see the struggle and have been trying to get legislation to the floor for the last month, Nazi Pelosi would rather continue to spew hatred of the president and love for the environmental lobby that to do her job and manage the house to pass energy legislation that 76% of the American people support.

Call Now and Call Often to the President and demand that he call the House back for a special session of congress to fix the energy crisis.

Quick Treats that ANYONE Can Make

I have been on a political slant the last few posts, but I haven't turned CSPAN on yet today and want to talk about something we all love. MUNCHIES! I love my salty and my sweets and when I can combine them I am in heaven, a treat that hits two different taste zones of the tongue is beyond pure joy. French fries dipped in a frosty from Wendy's, Honey glazed chicken, or cinnamon/sugar on toast with salted butter. MMMM! I found a new one on the net and wish I could remember where so I could give proper credit, It is an old recipe that seems to span generations, so I had to try it, and I did in several different variations.

The basics:
popcorn (I used butter lovers :-))
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup honey or corn syrup
1 tsp vanilla

The Add-ins (choose one or more totalling 1/2 cup)
cup peanut butter
milk chocolate chips
white chocolate chips
Reese's Peanut Butter chips
or any other chip that will melt in the hot sugar.
You could also add peanuts, cashews, etc as well as the sweet stuff.

The directions:
Pop the popcorn (2 bags of microwave corn is about the right amount)
Remove the un-popped kernels and place popped corn into a glass or stainless bowl (plastic would be a bad thing here)
Add the sugar, and honey into a heavy bottom sauce pot and bring to a rolling boil, stir the mixture in the beginning to ensure it is all combined.
Boil for 2-3 minutes and remove from heat
Add the vanilla and add-in of choice, stir until melted and evenly combined
Pour over popcorn and gently fold it in to evenly coat all the popped kernels.
Let cool (if you can) and then eat.

This whole process really only takes 10 minutes tops, and is so worth it.

Call the congress

I have become an avid C-Span watcher. I am trying to stop it though because by the time congress adjourns each day I am typically pretty pissed off. Both sides of the aisle in both the house and the senate can't get anything done except blame the opposite party for the hold up of legislation. This year the Democrats have added over 400 billion dollars in non-identified NEW spending for social programs that they will fight about later. Most of it will more than likely be used for useless earmarks, like studies on the mating habits of fruit flies, or some other false science like global warming, carbon offsets or solar powered green houses.

Both Nazi Pelosi and Harry Reid have continued to refuse to allow debate, amendments or up/down votes on any energy bills whatsoever. They are leaving for vacation at the end of this week and haven't done anything for the majority of this session.

If you are reading this, I urge you to write and call your local representatives, senators and tell them that they have not completed their job and cannot take a vacation until they pass real legislation to reduce energy prices. I also urge you to call or write the white house and ask the president to call a special session of congress if they do go out on recess, he can do this and set the agenda to follow, it's in the constitution. We as tax payers are the owners of this country and we need to take back control of it from the special interests that seem to have taken over the congress. Let them all know that is time for them to stop wasting our tax dollars and create and pass meaningful legislation that will lower energy costs and taxes.

Somebody Run Nancy Over With a Tanker... Please!

What is it going to take to get the left leaning majority to actually do their job and represent the needs of the people and not the desires of the special interest lobby?

76% of Americans support drilling on both the east and west coasts, why isn't congress making that a priority to abolish the ban on drilling. There have been bill after bill sent to the leadership in the house of representatives that have been held in committee and never voted on.

This leads me to believe that one of two things are happening, or both; first, the far left leaning leadership has been bought and paid for by the tree-hugging wackos that do not want any oil exploration done, in fact they want fuel costs to keep rising until America stops using oil products. Second, they hate George W Bush so much that they do not, at any cost, give his administration anything that will make his administration look better.

What can we do about it?

We are a few short months away from the election, we should vote as many of the left out of office. We need to vote into office those that will represent the best interests of the people, not the special interests.

We need to have a conservative leadership that will put an end to all federally funded social programs. The only thing the feds should worry about is national security. Everything else should be through the states or free enterprise.

10 Reasons why you should NOT vote Obama

10. He is in-experienced, he is good giving scripted speeches where he has speech writers pulling the strings and giving him the words to speak, but everytime he opens his mouth without a script he sounds like a "D" student in the 6th grade. 57 states, fallen heroes at his speech, among so many others.
9. He has yet to take ownership of his actions, he has dis-owned any knowledge of the behavior and beliefs of people he has associated with for better than 20 years. Rev. Wright, Father Flager, William Ayers, Tony Rezko. He has very bad judgment when it comes to his personal associations, with the lame excuse that he didn't see "that" side of the person, or in the case of William Ayers, "I was only 9 years old when he was bombing the capital"
8. He started the campaign with only one policy that he has not flip-flopped on, "If you question anything he says, you are a racist." He does not want anyone to question his policies because beyond what is written for him in the speeches, he is lost and doesn't have any policies that he wants you to hear.
7. Can you afford higher taxes, he will raise them, for those that make more than 250k their federal tax will go from 35% to 39%, social security tax from 7% to 14% and a 2% medicare tax, this on top of state and local taxes, you will be in excess of 60% tax rate. For the rest of us, he would allow the Bush tax cuts expire, that means we would pay $2500 more annually, he pledged to give $1000 back, netting a $1500 tax increase. Not to mention a 50% capital gains tax, win-fall profit tax. Sounds like only those on welfare that aren't paying taxes should want to vote for Obama.
6. "A white Mans greed is a world in need", he said it, not me.
5. The midwest is full of bitter people that are clinging to their guns and religion - he says that like guns and religion are a bad thing.
4. He will surrender in Iraq handing the Al Queda a victory in the war on terror. If we leave Iraq, it will become the capital of all things evil.
3. The fairness doctrine, if you are unfamiliar with this doctrine, look it up, but it basically limits the free speech of radio commentators.
2. Global warming - he has bought into this load of crap, he will make it impossible for you to live your life as you choose. No offshore drilling, no nukes, no coal, just higher prices.
1. He is a marxist, he hates the American way of life and is Euro-centric, he does not want Americans to have any choices, he wants the government to control everything in your life, he wants to take more from those that work hard to be successful and give it to those that don't work at all. Typical wealth re-distribution. He even wants to guarantee health care coverage for those that have illegally entered our country as well as jobs and drivers licenses.

You decide, do you want to live in a country where you can make decisions based on your needs or would you like the government to decide what needs you should have and be stuck with what they give you. Once you surrender your freedoms, it is next to impossible to get them back.

Macaroni is tubular dude

I awoke this morning thinking about macaroni in all its forms, not the stuff in the blue box with the powdered cheese of nuclear yellow, although it is on the short list of my wifes kitchen talents (she has many other talents for which I cannot compete) I am talking about all the pastas that fall into the category of macaroni. Legend has it macaroni received its moniker after it was served to an early Italian sovereign he exclaimed "Ma caroni" meaning "how very dear"
But did you know it is not just the little tubular elbows that are included in the "vey dear" category there are many others including shells, twists and ribons, all very famous in the grocery store pasta salads, but what of the less known members of the family;
the ditalini - very small short tubes
mostaccioli - large, 2 inch long tubes, cut on the bias, sometimes smooth and sometimes with ridges.
Rigatoni - short, grooved tubes
and Ziti - long, thin tubes

There are so many things you can do with macaroni, find a good recipe for American Chop Suey, any New England School Cafeteria worker should be able to help you out, then add you own twist to it, give macaroni a little love today.
